Airpower is one of two Camozzi agents in South Africa. Camozzi is an Italian company and a world leader in quality pneumatic components. Many Italian and other international machines manufacturers use Camozzi pneumatic components. Airpower build pneumatic operated production machines and stock all the Camozzi components.
Air Compressor Pneumatic Components
Pneumatic Components are used to build automated production machines. Normally it uses compressed air to create motion. Pneumatic systems are used for fast and relatively light repetitive motion. For heavy and slow movement you will rather use a hydraulic system.
The advantage of a pneumatic system is no oil leaks and only one compressed air line. There is no air to be returned to your compressor. It is just dumped after it did its work. The working pressure is also very low, about 7 bar normally, compared to hydraulic systems of a few hundred bar pressure. The pneumatic system is also much lighter than a hydraulic system.
Pneumatic Cylinders for Air Compressors
A Camozzi pneumatic cylinder transforms compressed air energy into a back-and-forth linear motion. These cylinders, manufactured by Camozzi, offer simplicity and cost-effectiveness for linear load movement. By adjusting the pressure or flow of compressed air, users can easily modify the speed and force of pneumatic cylinders. They find widespread use in automating machines and industrial processes. Pneumatic cylinders are lightweight, non-polluting, and require no return line, unlike hydraulic cylinders, as they only need compressed air flowing from the air compressor to the cylinder
Camozzi Pneumatic Service Units & Filter Regulators
Ensure clean, dry, and precisely regulated air in your pneumatic systems with Camozzi Pneumatic Service Units and Filter Regulators. These high-quality components are designed to optimise the performance and longevity of your equipment by removing contaminants, regulating pressure, and maintaining consistent airflow. Ideal for industrial and automation applications, Camozzi’s service units combine reliability with compact design, making them easy to install and maintain. Whether you need a single regulator or a complete FRL (Filter, Regulator, Lubricator) assembly, Airpower offers a range of Camozzi solutions to keep your systems running smoothly and efficiently.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What is the advantage of using pneumatic systems over hydraulic or electric systems?
Answer: Pneumatic systems are lighter, cleaner, and require lower maintenance compared to hydraulic systems. They operate at lower pressures (around 7 bar) and use only compressed air—no oil, no leaks. Unlike electric systems, pneumatic systems are also better suited for fast, repetitive motion in automated production. This makes them ideal for packaging, material handling, and assembly applications.
2. Why choose Camozzi pneumatic components?
Answer: Camozzi is an Italian world leader in pneumatic automation, known for high-quality, precision-engineered components. Used by many international machine manufacturers, Camozzi components are reliable, easy to integrate, and backed by global engineering support. Airpower, as an authorised Camozzi agent in South Africa, ensures direct access to genuine parts, local stock availability, and expert service.
3. What does a pneumatic cylinder do, and where is it used?
Answer: A pneumatic cylinder converts compressed air into linear motion. It is commonly used in industrial automation to push, pull, lift, or clamp objects in processes like packaging, bottling, or product assembly. Camozzi cylinders are lightweight, non-polluting, and offer easy adjustability of speed and force—ideal for high-speed, low-force applications.
4. What is an FRL unit, and why is it important?
Answer: An FRL unit (Filter, Regulator, Lubricator) is essential for maintaining the quality and performance of your pneumatic system.
-
The filter removes dust and moisture.
-
The regulator ensures consistent pressure.
-
The lubricator reduces friction and wear.
Camozzi FRL units improve system reliability, reduce downtime, and extend the life of cylinders, valves, and actuators.
5. How do I know which Camozzi component I need for my machine?
Answer: You can consult with Airpower’s experienced technical team by providing your machine specs, application type, or existing part numbers. We assist with identifying the correct valves, fittings, cylinders, or FRL units from our wide Camozzi range. We also help customise pneumatic solutions for new machinery or retrofitting existing systems.
Refrigerated Dryers
Refrigerated air dryers from 750 liters/min up to 17000 liter/min ex-stock. Larger ex overseas. Dew point 4°C under pressure. Automatic drain pre and manual drain after filters.
Screw Compressors
Screw compressors have no valves or other mechanical forces to cause imbalances unlike piston compressors.
Compressor Components
Airpower keeps universal spare parts for compressors. Pressure switches, non return valves and safety valves are universal to all compressors. Bottom entry filters/ regulators, electric motors and starters can be used for many makes of compressors.
